About this deal

Lacking the harmful PFAS chemicals found in traditional AFFF foam, this is a more environmental choice that maintains Class A, Class B, and electrical coverage, while adding Class F capability. Depending on specific conditions in your workplace, you may need a number of foam fire extinguishers, perhaps in conjunction with other types of fire extinguishers, such as CO2 or dry powder extinguishers.

Care must, however, be taken when cleaning up after a foam discharge or when disposing of foam extinguishers, as the AFFF foam is carcinogenic and can poison surface water, such as rivers. Do not aim the spray directly into the liquid as this will drive the foam beneath the liquid surface and render it ineffective. It also allows foam fire extinguishers to put out flammable liquid fires, by creating a barrier between the liquid’s surface and the flames. The chances are the fire will not be extinguished and the electrical appliances could be permanently damaged. Our range of Class A rated water mist extinguishers are the perfect replacement for these locations.

If you’re not sure what you need, please book a free surveyand we’ll tell you which types of fire extinguisher are required for your specific premises. Recognisable by their cream 'Foam' label, these extinguishers are available in various sizes, with 6 litres being the most common. All of our AFFF Foam Fire Extinguishers are CE marked and include a 5-year guarantee, providing a quality product you can depend on. Our Commander range consists of a 6 litre with a 21A 144B fire rating, and a 9 litre with a 27A 183B rating. This 6Ltr foam extinguisher has a squeeze grip that is easy to use and the spray nozzle helps put out the fire faster.

AR-AFFF must be used in areas where gasoline is blended with oxygenates, since the alcohols prevent the formation of the film between the FFFP foam and the gasoline, breaking down the foam, and rendering the FFFP foam virtually useless. According to BS 5036-3, you should test foam fire extinguishers on a five-yearly basis by discharge. Pros: non-toxic, non-damaging to most materials, largely safe if accidentally used on electrical fires (although this is not recommended), designed to prevent the re-ignition fires, lighter in weight than the equivalent water extinguisher. These extinguishers are renowned for their efficiency in combating Class A and B fires involving solid materials and flammable liquids. Make sure you’re at a safe distance from the blaze when releasing the foam by squeezing the lever on the foam extinguisher.
